Gardening team member with own transport

When gardens and lawns become overgrown, most of us find it a nuisance. People who are physically unable to do their gardens find it distressing, particularly those who are usually housebound. The aim of the garden service is to provide volunteers to maintain the gardens of people who cannot manage unaided.

VAEF Gardening service provides a practical service which enables people to go on living independently. The project also brings together clients and volunteers who benefit from the social interaction of helping clients and working with other volunteer gardeners (we work in teams to make the tasks more fun!).

Volunteers work with a gardener and are given training and equipment.

Gardner needed for Mondays or Thursdays to volunteer in the district.

VAEF Gardening volunteers can be of all ages from all different sectors of the community. You do not need to have any specialist gardening skills - most of the work involves simple weeding, pruning, mowing or trimming.

Own transport is a must as gardens can be in locations not well serviced by bus routes.
