Bereavement Friendship Group Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to support a popular friendship group, which is for people who have been bereaved.  This is a welcoming and friendly group who are looking to make friends and find new interests.

If you are a great listener, friendly and good with people this role could be for you!

You would be joining a group of volunteers to:

  • Help people mix and chat to each other
  • Help start conversations, especially if someone is shy or introverted, helping them make new friends
  • Help people make teas and coffees if necessary
  • Help set up tables and chairs and put them away at the end
  • Assist with the cleaning to meet Covid-19 requirements

Ideally we are looking someone to join our group of volunteers to set up, attend and clear the room each Wednesday from 12.45 – 3.30 pm in Rayleigh. 

Please note that due to the Covid pandemic this group is currently closed but if you would like to volunteer in the future, please register your interest and we will contact you shortly.


We are looking for someone who:

-        Is friendly, approachable and kind

-        Has good listening skills and a sense of humour

-        Is reliable, patient and understanding

-        Is physically able to stand for periods and move & put away tables and chairs
