Friendship and Bereavement Group Volunteer

We are currently looking for volunteers to support our New Steps Group in Rayleigh, who meet for a couple of hours once a week.

People can become lonely and isolated for a variety of reasons but we have found our support group can be a great benefit to all involved.

New Steps is a friendly group offering those who have been bereaved the chance to meet others who share and understand the experience of loss and are looking to socialise and explore new interests together.

For further information about the group, please see the link below:

Volunteers should:

Have good listening skills

Enjoy social interaction, be friendly and outgoing

Have the ability to motivate and encourage others

Have a sense or humour

Be honest and reliable, patient and understanding
