The Ongar Town Festival is a new event which aims to embrace all communities within the town. The Festival Event Task Force will be responsible for making the day run as smoothly and successfully as possible. At the start of the day the task force will need to set up the admin stalls, lay the sand for the Petanque Tournament playing area, direct and control arriving stall holders. Later traffic and parking direction will be required, manning of the main event information point, patrolling the high street to offer assistance to the public and assisting the running of the tournament. At the end of the event we will need to conduct a thorough clear up of the playing area sand as well as a general litter picking exercise and make sure the town is put back together to resume it's normal functions on the next day. Volunteers will of course also have the opportunity to explore what is on offer at the event itself.
It would be useful for volunteers to have good interactive social and communication skills.
