Driver Urgently Needed for Essex Youth Bus with Option of Becoming a Youth Volunteer

Yellow Door urgently need a volunteer Driver to transport youth members, using the Essex Youth Bus, from Ely House in Basildon to Waterside Skate Park, Canvey Island. We will also be starting an outreach group at The Avenues, Canvey Island and would therefore require the driver to commit to a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon or both.

The volunteer/s will also have the option to be trained as a Youth Worker to help provide additional support to young people but this is not a necessity for the Driver's role.


Applicants must:

• Hold a clean driving License with D1

• Be under 70 (Essex Youth Service Policy)

• Be happy to undertake driving assessment in the Essex Youth Bus

• Be able to complete necessary paperwork and follow Essex Youth Services procedures when taking out Youth Bus.

If you would also like to become a Youth Worker, you must:

• Have a genuine concern for young people and be able to work with them in a non-judgemental way.

• Be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.

• Be able to work in a team.
