Side-by-Side Club Volunteer Driver

Saffron Walden Mencap Society is dedicated to improving the lives of local adults with learning disabilities by offering fun, friendship, and inclusion at a variety of clubs, events and outings.

Our Side-by-Side volunteer drivers will be able to commit to driving our members to and from a weekly social club held at the Salvation Army Hall in Saffron Walden every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. 

You will be driving the same individual (s) every week following our Transport Policy guidelines and will be given sufficient information in order to fulfil the role. 

We offer mileage of 45p per mile to all of our drivers, claimed on a monthly basis.

Skills

You will need to have a current drivers licence, be fully insured to drive your own vehicle which will be safe and roadworthy. No previous experience in the field is required - but you must be willing to learn and to complete our induction process (with support if required).

All of our volunteers must have an enhanced DBS certificate which will be organised by our charity at no cost to you.
