Donkey helper/walker

Do you like donkeys? Have you ever wanted to help look after 4 very friendly donkeys and even help walk and train them? If so come and meet Jubilee and son Jonny Depp, and Maddie and daughter Precious. They live as a small herd on the outskirts of Widdington, North Essex and were re-homed by the Donkey Sanctuary.

We are looking for kind and committed volunteers who want to help us muck out their stable, clear their paddock, replace their feed/water, and groom them on a regular basis.

We are also open to anyone who in addition wants to be involved in helping to walk and train them with us.

This opportunity has come up as we are trying to make some extra space and time to launch our other projects at Bridge Meadows.

Skills

A certain level of physical fitness is helpful, (but you can also go at your own pace)

Enjoyment of being outside in nature (in all weathers! – there are warm indoor areas to dry off if need be)

Patience (the idea that all donkeys are stubborn is a myth but….they can be on occasion!)

An open heart.
