The Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity for people with life limiting illness and people in their later years and their much loved, much needed companion animals.
All volunteers help in the ways that are most appropriate to them. A team of volunteers take it in turn to visit housebound owners to take the dog for a walk, they offer help with cat care, volunteers foster pets when owners face a spell in hospital, take pets to the vet and even clean out the budgie's cage.
Empathy for elderly and people with ill health.
You will be asked to provide details of three individuals for reference purposes, i.e. two personal referees i.e. friend, neighbour, work colleague etc., (people who have known you for five years or more) and one professional referee that has known you for one year this can be somebody that knows you on a personal level that works in any profession. (Family members/Partners and Support workers will not be accepted under our insurance.) A photograph (or snapshot cut down) is required for a volunteer identity badge.
Processing your application can take between three and four weeks.
