Counsellor

Place2Be requires  Volunteer   Counsellors who will work one to one in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children per week. Place2Be is a charity whose mission is to enhance the wellbeing and prospects of children and their families.

As a Volunteer Counsellor, you will work one to one in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children per week. The commitment is for one day per week, for three school terms, from 8.45 to 4.30 to include therapy sessions & supervision of clinical work. There may also be opportunities to get involved with group work alongside the School Project manager. You will be fully supervised by an on-site School Project Manager, who is also responsible for co-ordinating the services, working with school staff, parents and caregivers. The Place2Be works within the BACP Ethical Framework.

In return, Place2Be provides a high level of support through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-received clinical placement. There is a comprehensive induction programme and Clinical supervision is provided at the end of each day. 7 optional workshops are offered throughout the year which are recognised continuing professional development time and sessions spent with children are accepted clinical hours towards professional accreditation, as recognised by both the BACP and UKCP.
