As a Community Panel Member, you will play a vital role in supporting children to take responsibility for their actions, make amends, and move forward positively. You will work alongside Youth Justice practitioners, parents/carers, and sometimes victims, to create a safe, respectful, and restorative environment where meaningful conversations can take place.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Referral Order Panel meetings, ensuring all participants are heard and treated with dignity and respect.
- Encourage children to reflect on their behaviour, understand the impact of their actions, and engage in positive change.
- Support the development of agreed contracts that focus on reparation, personal development, and reducing reoffending.
- Promote a restorative practice approach, fostering accountability while recognising strengths and potential.
- Liaise effectively with Youth Justice staff and contribute to a multi-agency approach to supporting children and families.

Availability Details
There are volunteering opportunities across the county and these are held at different times of the day. There is no strict minimum amount of panels that you should cover but we would aim for a flexible minimum of 1 per month.
