Our wonderful Community Fundraising volunteers help raise money to support unpaid carers to thrive. We rely on donations to help us increase the support we can give to carers. This includes developing new courses, groups and wellbeing trips and activities.
Our Community Fundraising volunteers help with fundraising events and organise activities within their local community. They are Carers First ambassadors, helping to spread the word about Carers First and encouraging local people, clubs and organisations to fundraise for us too. There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved including:
Help with bucket collections at local events such as fetes and fayres. You will get free entry and refreshments.
· Organise your own fundraising event e.g. with family and friends, at work or through a social or sports club. This might be a bake sale, quiz or dinner and entertainment, whatever you enjoy doing
· Take part in your own fundraising challenge e.g. walking, cycling, running or anything you can think of!
To give you some examples of what our wonderful volunteers have done:
· Volunteers helped us raise over £700 in a bucket collection at Lincoln City football club
· A member of the Kentish Players Association suggested Carers First as their Charity of the
Year. We were chosen and they aim to raise £1.5k for Carers First in the next year
· A supporter organised a Faulty Towers Dining Experience at his local Golf Club to benefit
Carers First.
Skills
· Friendly and enjoy meeting new people
· Enjoy learning new skills
· Want to make a real difference to people’s lives
· The hours are flexible, depending on how much time you would like to give. There is a

· We can introduce you to other volunteers if you would like to explore doing an event
together.
· Willing to make a personal commitment to support with completing an event or challenge
· Able to comply with policies around fundraising.
Training and Support:
· We will supply you with all you need to fundraise e.g. a volunteer t-shirt and bucket for
collections, a running vest for a Marathon, Carers First materials for an event e.g. balloons
and postcards
· You will have a point of contact in the Volunteering team who will provide ongoing support
· We will pay expenses you incur as part of this role.
