Community and Event Team Member

We are looking for?

Community and Event team volunteers to promote the services of Voluntary Action Epping Forest.

Are you interested in?

Linking up with people and promoting services that can enrich the life of isolated residents. Do you want to make a difference to your community?

Voluntary Action Epping Forest runs supported volunteering projects and provide direct services to older, disabled or vulnerable residents, by providing befriending clubs and visitors, benefits advice, gardening and handyman services. We also support the district charities by recruiting volunteers providing advice for organisations that involve volunteers. We continue to innovate and develop new services so we need to reach more people and ensure that everyone is aware of what's available and how to access ours services.

To do this we are looking to recruit a team of Community and Event Volunteers to help promote Voluntary Action Epping Forests work by speaking to members of the public and handing out literature at key community venues in Epping Forest District. Volunteers will work in pairs and will be fully trained and informed.

What will I be doing?

Run information desk - informing the public about the work of Voluntary Action Epping Forest. Handing out flyers. Putting up posters on local notice boards.

This would be a good opportunity to gain PR/Events skills and learn about what's going on in your community. Volunteers should be confident, approachable and friendly.

For those volunteers who would like to, there will also be the opportunity to be based in the office at Voluntary Action Epping Forest offices in Epping to speak to local organisations to set up events and PR administration.
