Peaceful Place is a charity for people of working age and older living with dementia. Our aim is to help our members live their best lives. We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the charity through its next phase of growth and sustainability.
As a Trustee, you will:
Provide strategic oversight and good governance
Support the charity's mission, values and long-term vision
Act in the best interest of the people we support
Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making
Ensure the charity remains financially sound, ethical and well-led
Trustees work collaboratively with the Chair, fellow Trustees, and the CEO. This is a voluntary role, but one that offers meaningful impact and the opportunity to make a real difference locally.
We welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences. You do not need prior trustee experience. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or interest in:
Finance or accounting
Legal governance
Health or social care
Community development
Fundraising or income generation
HR or people management
Lived experience of caring or dementia
Above all, we are looking for people who share our values of kindness, inclusion and empowerment and want to support a local charity making a direct, visible impact.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 4-5 Board meetings per year
Occasional involvement in sub-groups or strategic discussions
Meetings are friendly, supportive and well-structured
Why become a Trustee at Peaceful Place?
You'll be part of a charity that delivers real, frontline impact
You'll help counter negative narratives around dementia
You'll work with a passionate, committed Board and staff team
You'll gain valuable governance experience while giving back
We would love to hear from you if you are interested. Apply by registering online or for an informal conversation or to express interest, please contact CEO Charlotte Curran on 07860 610767 or our Chair Ann Davenport on 07814 373636
