We urgently need kind, compassionate and energetic volunteers to help vulnerable people during winter.
Our team of volunteers assist those that are medically fit to leave hospital but unable to do so due to social concerns.
This a short term rapid response programme in which seniors or other vulnerable patents are met at home after discharge, made comfortable and then visited in the days following.
This will ease anxiety, and surmount practical and social problems that put people in danger of rapid readmission.
Volunteers will perform simple but vital tasks such as: Checking the heating, rearranging furniture, doing a basic food shop, signposting to other services..
Volunteers will not perform personal or medical tasks.
Volunteers will work in pairs or with a member of staff.
We will provide comprehensive training, continuous support, and expenses.
