Be the reason someone feels seen, heard and supported - Volunteer Befrienders needed for Castle Point, Rayleigh & Rochford

Could you spare a couple of hours per week to brighten someone's day?

Would you like to keep people in your community safe and cared for?

CAVS 'in home' Befriending service provides our service users with friendship as well as our Befriendees becoming the 'eyes and ears' in terms of keeping people safe in their home environment.  Our Befrienders provide informal, social support to help reduce isolation; it is now proven that loneliness and isolation can negatively impact people mentally and physically however research indicates that social interaction can drastically improve an individual's health in both areas.

We would love people to join our friendly team of valued volunteers and become Befrienders to people in their community, so often these people have no other support network in place.  Vicky Pilton, our Befriending Co-Ordinator says "people can become lonely and isolated for a variety of reasons but we have found our service can be of great benefit by providing companionship to those that could otherwise go for days without seeing anyone at all".

Befrienders will be matched with a Befriendee taking into account home locations and interests.
