We want to offer young people in Essex the opportunity to be a part of our Volunteer Police Cadet programme.
But we need your help.
We’re looking for local people, over the age of 18, to get involved in our Police Cadet programme as a volunteer cadet leader.
Police Cadets isn’t about recruiting police officers of the future. It is about building positive relationships between young people, their communities, and police.
Our volunteer police cadet leaders help to guide and inspire local teens, encouraging them to become good citizens.
Being a cadet leader is hugely rewarding. Not only will you gain skills, experience and qualifications, but your mentorship can support young local people grow into confident, well-rounded members of our community.
You do not need to have a policing background to be a cadet leader. In fact, we encourage those outside the police community to apply.
Skills
We want to grow our cadet programme, but we need your help. We’re looking for local people, over the age of 18, who can guide and inspire our cadets.
As a cadet leader you will help to encourage young people to become good citizens. You will also develop your own leadership and management skills too, gaining training and experience along the way.
This voluntary position will involve planning and attending regular meetings with your cadet unit. We also have police and ceremonial events, that cadets are required to attend, however we understand that you may not be able to attend every event. As a cadet leader you will also be asked to assist with police operations which involve your unit and help to deliver the cadet programme objectives.
You don’t need to have a policing background to be a cadet leader. In fact we encourage those outside the police community to apply. You will be supported by our VPC team and provided with the training to develop your own knowledge, skill set and recognised qualification.
Those who apply will undergo vetting to the highest national standards to enable you to work alongside young people.
Being a cadet leader is hugely rewarding. Your mentorship can support these young local people in growing into confident, well-rounded members of our community. The experiences they gain from being involved in our police cadet programme provides them with an excellent foundation to go on and achieve whatever it is they’d like to.
