You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to local residents. You will be given full training and ongoing support as part of a busy team of volunteers.

You will start as a Gateway Assessor, the first stage of information and advice in our triage system. You will interview clients both face to face and on the telephone and have the backup of our comprehensive information database.

As you gain experience you will have the opportunity, if you would like, to increase your knowledge and progress to become a full adviser.


Ability to use IT for researching information and keeping records.

A reasonable level of literacy for understanding documents, writing case records etc.

A reasonable level of numeracy for helping clients with financial problems etc
