What’s the Word?

18 April 2017

Volunteers Week 2017 takes place on the 1-7 June and as ever it is a week to celebrate and thank the thousands of volunteers that give their time across the UK every year.

In the Maldon District the Volunteer Centre wants to spread the word about volunteering and is asking local volunteers to give them a single word that defines their volunteering experience.

This could be what you do as a volunteer, how volunteering makes you feel, why you volunteer or what you get out of it.

Sarah Laskar, Director at Maldon and District CVS who host the Volunteer Centre says “the idea behind volunteering in one word is to capture the rich variety of volunteers, motivations and benefits that make up the field of volunteering. Everyone thinks they know what volunteering is but everyone will have a different experience. We want to capture that and spread the word to those not already involved”

Take part in this campaign by providing just one word about your volunteering experience
