Volunteer’s Week 2025

Every year, from the 1st Monday in June, the UK celebrates Volunteers’ Week – a time to recognise and thank the incredible people that give their time, energy, and care to support others.

Volunteer’s Week is about celebrating volunteers – the people who make a real difference, right here in our own communities as well as a reminder of how much our society relies on the kindness and commitment of everyday people who choose to step up and give back.

This year Volunteer’s Week runs from Monday 2nd till Sunday 8th June and our Volunteer Centres are hosting various events across Essex:


BBW CVS are holding a Volunteer Fair, with over 20 organisations attending:

Thursday 5th June: 10am-1pm: The Basildon Centre


Tendring CVS are holding 2 speed networking events

Wednesday 4th June: 2-4pm: Jaywick Community Centre
Thursday 5th June: 2-4pm: Harwich and Dovercourt Community HubOrange background poster for Volunteers' Week by CVST, announcing Speed Networking events on June 4th and 5th with colorful stars. #VolunteersWeek.

“Come along to our FREE speed networking events this VOLUNTEERS WEEK. Existing and potential new volunteers will take turns to hear your pitch on WHY they should volunteer with you.  There will then be an opportunity for them to come back later for a longer chat or follow up at a later date.

We have 20 tables available for each event, on a first come first served basis. To book email events@cvstendring.org.uk

Tuesday 3rd June: St Oysth Priory. Tendring CVS have organised a Fabulous Day out for their volunteers to say a BIG THANK YOU for their time, dedication and commitment given to our HILL Groups and to the community on the whole…….

Various tours will be given along with the Education Centre and Museum, Boules and a Quiz. Meet and make new friends.


Thurrock CVS have several events planned for Volunteers Week:

Monday 2nd June: 11-2pm: The Beehive: Volunteer Recruitment Fayre
Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th June: offering two Trustee Training Webinars, one lunchtime one evening. Bookings are now open
Tuesday 3rd June: Volunteer Outreach Session at Aveley Library
Wednesday 4th JuneVolunteer Outreach Session at Tilbury Library / Hub
Thursday 5th June: Celebrating the Thurrock CVS volunteers with an afternoon Garden Party
Friday 6th June: Volunteer Awards afternoon, celebrating volunteers who have been nominated by their organisations

Chelmsford CVS are hosting VOLFEST 2025

Thursday 5th June: 9.30 – 4pm: Chelmsford High Street. Come along for our annual showcasePoster for Vol Fest, Chelmsford High Street, June 5, 2025. Highlights charities, volunteering, food, and music. Colorful triangle patterns. of local charities, services, and volunteering opportunities, with music and food!

Now in its seventh year, VOLFEST continues to grow as a cornerstone event during National Volunteers Week, bringing together 50 local charities to showcase the life-changing impact of volunteering and community services.

VOLFEST is your chance to:

UCAN are holding a Volunteer Fair
