Many and Varied Volunteering Roles with Farleigh Hospice

Farleigh Hospice is a registered charity providing hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses across mid Essex.  Since being established in 1982, Farleigh Hospice and their team of healthcare professionals has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community.

Farleigh provides specialist medical care services to people with diseases which are potentially progressive and life threatening and the support of family and carers is an integral part of the service.

You can support Farleigh by assisting and supporting patients in their Inpatient Unit and Day Hospice; cooking delicious homemade meals in the kitchen; welcoming visitors on reception; or helping out in the office.

Event Volunteers offer support at fundraising events organised throughout the year.  Events scheduled over the end of the year include the Autumn Quiz, Bubble Rush Maldon 2019, Gin Tasting Evening, and Shopping Extravaganza.  Sign up now to take part in the Santa Fun Run or Click Here to volunteer!

Volunteer roles within Farleigh Hospice are as diverse as the volunteers themselves and volunteers play a vital role in everything they do at Farleigh Hospice.

By volunteering in one of Farleigh’s shops across mid Essex you can raise funds right in your community.  Retail roles are available in Chelmsford, Witham, Maldon, Braintree, Southminster, and Great Dunmow.

For most of Farleigh’s volunteer roles you don’t need any specific skills or experience, just enthusiasm to get involved and a willingness to support people with a life limiting illness or bereavement.  If specific skills, experience or qualifications are required (e.g. volunteer Complementary Therapists or Patient Driver roles) details are provided in the role description.  Full support and training will be provided for all volunteering roles.

There are currently over 25 volunteering roles available with Farleigh Hospice.  To discover all of them click here or contact your local Volunteer Centre.
