Race Marshalls are needed by RTC Events to support their Rochford Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday 8th February 2026.
Whether you help at registration, road crossings, water stations, start/finish line, general support and cheering, you’ll be making a difference. No experience needed. High-vis provided. Hot drinks, briefings and team camaraderie included. If you’ve volunteered before, you know the buzz. If it’s your first time, you’ll love it.
Registration Marshalls
• Welcoming participants and directing them to the correct registration area
• Assisting with number and timing chip collection
• Providing general event information to runners and spectators
Course Marshalls
• Directing and encouraging runners along the route
• Monitoring road junctions and ensuring runner safety
• Communicating with event control if any issues arise
• Being a friendly, supportive presence for participants
Water Station Marshalls
• Setting up and managing water tables along the route
• Handing out water to runners
• Clearing discarded cups and maintaining a tidy area
Finish Line Marshalls
• Welcoming runners as they cross the finish line
• Handing out medals, water, and refreshments
• Helping keep the finish area clear and organised
