Maldon & District Community Voluntary Service (CVS) has been awarded a Community Grant to fund a new project which will support individuals of working age in Maldon District to develop digital skills and use digital technology to increase wellbeing, self-care and independence.
The grant has been awarded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) under their Community Grants Scheme via European Social Fund funding (ESF); and is being administered by charity CXK. CXK will be allocating grants of more than £600,000 in total over the course of the next year. The grants are available to organisations that help those furthest from the job market improve their skills and/or get into work or training.
Using online tools and face-to-face training, Maldon & District CVS’s project will support people to develop their own bespoke learning plans which will be designed to increase digital confidence and to help people manage their wellbeing alongside increasing community involvement through the use of technology
Sarah Troop, Director at Maldon & District CVS, said:
“We understand people face many different barriers to being involved with their community. The aim of this project is to enable individuals to access training and employment, build skills and confidence and learn to use digital platforms to manage their wellbeing, improve their connections within their community, and move forward with their career aspirations.”
