At Maldon & District Citizens Advice you will be helping local residents to solve the problems they face over a wide range of issues. You will make a real difference to lives, listening to concerns, providing information, advice and depending on your role, taking action on behalf of people who would struggle without support.
You will quickly feel part of the team of caring, friendly, volunteers and gain huge satisfaction from the work you do and the response of clients. Whether you choose to take up an advice role after training, or prefer to help with other essential tasks in running the charity you will feel equally valued.
Citizens Advice volunteers come with all sorts of career backgrounds or none at all. Some are students, others have had a break from employment looking after families and some are retired. What they all have in common is a care for others and enthusiasm for helping people.
As the subjects covered are so varied, every day is interesting. You will never go home without having learnt something new!
Volunteer roles are available at Citizens’ Advice Bureau throughout Essex. Search the website or contact your local Volunteer Centre for more information.
