Braintree District Volunteer Awards

B'tree AwardTo mark the incredible dedication of volunteers within Braintree District, Braintree District Council, in partnership with Braintree District Voluntary Support Agency (BDVSA), have launched a brand new awards scheme ‘The Braintree District Volunteers Awards’.

Nominations are now open for residents and groups to celebrate the good that goes on in our communities. The awards are made up of six categories all designed to celebrate the effort of volunteers who make contributions to their community:

Young Volunteer Award:

For volunteers aged 25 and under who have demonstrated commitment and who have achieved great success for the organisation. They may have developed in a personal capacity, been keen to learn new skills, or shown particular enthusiasm for their role.

Inspirational Role Model of the Year Award:

For volunteers who have made an exceptional contribution through inspiring others to achieve outstanding success or who inspire others with their achievements. They may have overcome adversity or difficulties and are a shining example to others.

Fundraiser of the Year Award:

For any volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to fundraising for their organisation. The fundraiser should have shown consistent excellence and best practice through their actions, leadership and success.

Long Service Award:

Awarded to exceptional long serving volunteers, to celebrate the effort and commitment they have shown over a number of years.

Going the Extra Mile Award:

Recognises volunteers who have performed above and beyond normal expectations in specific and recognisable ways for their organisation. This award acknowledges the service and dedication for those who take on one or more special initiatives to help others and the organisation through service they were not called upon to do.

Volunteer Group of the Year Award:

Recognising good teamwork and combined contribution, rather than simply an outstanding  result achieved by a team of volunteers. The group may have worked on a specific event or project in the Braintree District, or may have volunteered together for a significant period of time.
