Awards for Outstanding Voluntary Service

17 September 2015

Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond?

Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action are delighted to announce that the Mayors Award for Voluntary Service is being launched again for 2015/16. To reflect the theme for his year of office ‘Young People – Unleash the Potential’, the Mayor will also be presenting a special Award to recognise the outstanding contribution to voluntary action given by local young people.

They are seeking volunteers in the community who have gone above and beyond in their voluntary effort. The awards are intended to be a surprise thank you and recognition for their recipients so discretion is requested.

Why not surprise someone who has supported you as a volunteer? This could be someone who has helped your organisation to achieve an aim, perhaps you have been supported by someone and would like to say thanks, or are you simply in awe of how much a fellow volunteer gives.

Nominated volunteers can come from any organisation and carry out any role but they must  live in Chelmsford.

If you want more information about the awards, and nominations please view the Centre Supporting Voluntary Action website. Nominations are invited from 1 August 2015 until midnight on Monday 1 February 2016 and forms with full Guidance can be downloaded from their website.

“Volunteers are vital to local charities, community events and activities – without their help our City would not be what it is today.”- Chelmsford Mayor, following last years awards
