The 3rd of March is World Wildlife day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. This years theme is around young people and encouraging them to be more aware of the issues affecting the worlds wildlife.
Volunteers play a key role in supporting the world’s wildlife and you can get involved with World Wildlife day simply by raising awareness through your own social media accounts.
Visit http://wildlifeday.org/content/get_involved for ideas on how you can support this awareness day from your phone or computer. A simple first step into volunteering.
If you would like to do more then why not enter the keyword “Wildlife” into our search and see what you can do locally. Volunteer Essex has a range of opportunities with local groups such as the Essex Wildlife Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, Local Nature reserves and the National Trust.
For example following this years World Wildlife day’s theme of youth there is the Education Assistant volunteering role with the Essex Wildlife Trust – Colchester.
This role involves supporting the Education officer to run all sorts of fun activities for kids to get stuck into and our assistants have as much fun as the children! Read more about this opportunity here https://www.volunteeressex.org/opportunities/education-assistant-8969
