Telephone Befriending

Are you a good talker and an equally good listener?

Telephone volunteering roles are a lifeline for the socially isolated.

From your own home you could be offering regular telephone support to:

  • socially isolated vulnerable or elderly people

  • those who are recovering from stroke

  • families that need a little extra support

  • the sight impaired

  • helping the public access information

Whichever role you choose you will need to have good communication and listening skills as well as empathy and patience and you must also understand the need for confidentiality.

In most cases training will be provided.
