Managing difficult situations with volunteers

17 June 2015 at 1:30 PM to 17 June 2015 at 4:30 PM

Posted by: voluntary Sector Training

As volunteer coordinators we are often in contact with the largest number of people in our organisation, with the widest range of capabilities and experience.  This will inevitably lead to situations which can be challenging; this half day workshop will look at ways that we can avoid some situations entirely, but also how we can build our skills to facilitate solutions that work for everyone.

This course will cover:

  • Identify areas of difference that can lead to disagreement between volunteers, or volunteers and organisations
  • Understand where behaviour comes from
  • Tackle challenging situations that occur assertively
  • Plan a strong recruitment process that avoids as many difficulties as possible
