Tips for searching on Volunteer Essex

Volunteer Essex has thousands of live volunteering roles to choose from, below are some top tips to help you to narrow these down to help find the right one for you.

• When entering a postcode the database will recognise which part of Essex you live in and return results for that district. This will include local charities as well as countywide and national charities active in your area.
• You can choose to search by activities and interests or by keyword, or a mixture of both
• If you know the name of the organisation you would like to volunteer try putting their name into the keyword search
• If you know who you would like to benefit try putting that into a keyword search e.g. older people
• If you are not sure of a spelling then you can put part of the word in e.g type "Alz" instead of "Alzheimers"
• If you would like to find something specifically in your town or village try adding that in as your keyword to help narrow the search
• If you know what you would like to do as an activity e.g. Admin but don’t mind which kind of organisation you volunteer for you can select “No specific interest” in the interest field, this will act as a catch all allowing you to search all roles of that type.
